Focus
The Tech Law Forum examines technology as a legal, regulatory, institutional, and governance challenge. It studies how emerging technologies, digital platforms, data-driven systems, artificial intelligence, and other technological developments interact with law and reshape rights, institutions, markets, and systems of accountability.
With India as a central point of inquiry, the Forum engages with domestic developments alongside comparative and global debates. Its work seeks to understand how law responds to technological change and how legal and institutional frameworks can shape the development, deployment, and governance of technology.
Aim and Scope
The Tech Law Forum seeks to build a sustained platform for research, analysis, and discussion at the intersection of law and technology. It brings together students, academics, practitioners, researchers, and other contributors to examine contemporary questions in technology law and policy through legal scholarship, interdisciplinary analysis, and informed commentary.
The Forum focuses on:
- Technology and law – examining legal questions arising from emerging and established technologies, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, data-driven systems, and technological infrastructures.
- Regulation and governance – analysing legislation, regulation, institutional frameworks, standards, and governance approaches that shape technological development and deployment.
- Rights and institutions – exploring the implications of technological change for individual rights, democratic institutions, markets, public administration, and systems of accountability.
- Comparative and interdisciplinary inquiry – drawing on developments across jurisdictions and disciplines to place Indian technology-law questions within wider intellectual and regulatory contexts.
- Contemporary developments – engaging with significant developments in technology, legislation, regulation, policy, litigation, and institutional practice.
The Forum publishes research and commentary in varied forms, including analytical articles, explainers, legislative and regulatory updates, expert conversations, reviews, and other forms of legal and interdisciplinary scholarship. These formats are intended to make different dimensions of technology-law questions accessible while maintaining a commitment to legal rigour, accuracy, and substantive analysis.
Through its work, the Tech Law Forum seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between technological change and the institutions that govern it.
